Appointed by CHAP Construction, we are pleased to be involved with this innovative project, which will see a cafe and fernery added to existing facilities.

Young People in Construction

We were happy to have some young people visit our site very recently, to learn a bit more about some the different careers in construction. In this instance, Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering and Steel Fabrication. Using our new office build as a project example, they came onsite to learn about drainage and setting foundations, before watching the cement being poured. The next step will be to connect with the structural engineer and other professionals involved as we prepare for the steel going up. Our colleague, Steven Morris at Taylor Design Services in Ellon had already met with one of the young people previously to explain the role of the architect and the planning process thus far. As ever, we are keen to maximise learning opportunities for young people and have made sure safe working practises and full risk assessments are implemented.

Debris Catcher

An energy client tasked us with a design and manufacture project, to create a debris catcher to collect fragments of waste from subsea pipes as they are cleaned down following fabrication.  The images below are of the catcher frame at our premises before and after cladding, and then in position at client premises. The roof and floor are sloped to ensure all debris are deflected into the trough, making clean out easy work.  The KR Team are experts in finding solutions to problems.  Please get in touch if you have an innovation pain point we can help with.

New Build Workshop

New build workshop now complete, including roof tie in and internal mezzanine, stairs and handrails. The roof tie in was designed and completed around the client being fully operational so was a challenge for us to rise to. Satisfying to see the concept, planning and methodology come together. Great work team

Codona's Project

Back in the workshop this week and (finally) fabricating the remaining steel for the Codona's Go Kart project. The photos here are of 250x15mm track edging, rolled to various radii to suit the design of the track in various lengths, then drilled and countersunk for bolting together on site, before being sent for galvanising. It has been a pleasure working with the team at Codonas and we would like to wish them every success for the reopening of their Amusement Park - hopefully in the very near future.
